The report also explains why such a system is useful, how it helps agencies do a better job of managing network performance, and what a traffic management center (TMC) team needs to do to put a TTRMS in place.

Naturalistic Driving Study: Development of the Roadway Information Database
TRB’s second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2) Renewal Project S04A has produced a prepublication, nonedited version of a report titled Naturalistic Driving Study: Development of the Roadway Information Database that documents efforts to design, build, and populate a Roadway Information Database (RID) encompassing data from the SHRP 2 mobile data collection project (S04B), other existing roadway data, and supplemental traffic operations data. The RID was designed to provide data that are linkable to the SHRP 2 Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) database and accessible using GIS tools.
Vehicular Wireless and Connectivity Management
ITS America's first wireless report examined how next generation 4G cellular (wide-area), and nomadic wireless such as Wi-Fi (local-area) and Dedicated Short Range Communications (vehicle-area) will evolve and possibly support a number of vehicle applications.
This report investigates how heterogeneous mobile broadband networks, or “hetnets” will come about, and how they might enable wireless interoperablity of next generation vehicle/road infrastructure applications.

We're pleased to announce the deadline for Abstracts/Papers submission for the 7th International Symposium on Travel Demand Management has now been extended to Dec. 15, 2014. The symposium will be held in Tucson Arizona, USA, April 13-15, 2015, with the theme of "Dynamics of Travel Demand Management." The goal of this conference is to connect the domestic and international TDM research and practice communities to spark ideas that inspire the present and future direction of TDM in urban mobility. The conference will feature both an academic track and an industrial track.
This email is our call for abstracts to be considered for presentation, and call for papers for consideration of both presentation & publication at the 2015 TDM symposium. More information is below. I encourage you to submit your research and register to attend this event. On behalf of the organizing committee, we're pleased to be bringing this renowned conference to the U.S. for the first time, and we're looking forward to seeing active researchers and practitioners like yourself in Tucson, Arizona next year!
